Marcus "Mark" Moss, 73, of Desoto, Mississippi, passed away on September 23, 2023, at his residence.
He was born on January 15, 1950, to E. C. and Willie (McCord) Moss in Bay Springs, MS.
Mark was a longtime member and deacon at Desoto Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time in his garden, wood working, bowling, and watching college football with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather that had a love of ministering and spending time with all of the people he came in contact with.
Mark is survived by his wife of 51 years, Deborah "Debbie" Moss; sons, Christopher Sean (Rosie) Moss and Marcus Ryan (Andrea) Moss; daughter, Stephanie Lynn (Jamie) Wright; nine grandchildren, Morgan (Jake) Howell, Christian Moss, Trinity (Nashton) Pierce, Eli Moss, Coy Wright, Evan Moss, Michael Wright, Makenlee Wright, and Marshall Wright; three great-grandchildren, Haven Howell, Coltstyn Pierce, and Kye Howell; sister, Latriece Smith; and a sister-in-law, Jackie Moss; and several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. E. C. Moss; mother, Willie Pearl Moss; brother, Rev. Micheal "Mike" Moss; and brother-in-law, R. L. Smith.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023, 5:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home and Thursday, September 28, 2023, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at DeSoto Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at the DeSoto Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Oliver, Rev. Norman Robinson, and Rev. Dewayne Crane officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jake Howell, Troy Smith, Christian Moss, Tommy Scott, Jonathan Killian, and Jamie Wright. Honorary Pallbearers are John Gary Riley, Grady Satcher, Billy Priester, Van Riley, Joey McLeod, Freddie Battle, Jeremy Dodge, Mike Johnson, and Jeffery Glass.
Burial will take place in the DeSoto Cemetery.
