Marie Roberts, 79, of Vossburg, passed away on January 26, 2017 at Comfort Care Nursing Home in Laurel, MS. She was born on July 2, 1937 to L. G. and Junie (McCord) Boulton in Newton County, MS.
Marie is survived by her son, Fred "Bubba" (Tammy) Smith; daughters, Evon (Fiance', Bill McNeill) Thornton and Vicki (JImmy) Palmer; sisters, Shirley Norwood and Nadine Rowell; grandchildren, Shaun Thornton, Shae Miller, Shana Ainsworth, Michael Palmer, Joshua Palmer, Joseph Smith, and Wesley Smith; great-grandchildren, Natalee Ainsworth, Nathan Ainsworth, Ashlee Ainsworth, Emma Miller, Halle Thornton, Jack Thornton, Seth Palmer, Nolan Palmer, Deziya Smith, Bella Smith, and Haven Williams.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jan Smith; son-in-law, Jack Thornton; and parents, L. G. and Junie Boulton.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 27, 2017, after 6:00 pm at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017, 1:00 pm at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Stanley Downs and Rev. Ken Regan officiating. Burial will take place in the Shady Grove Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shaun Thornton, Joel Miller, Michael Palmer, Joshua Palmer, Joseph Smith, and Wesley Smith.
