Mrs. Mildred Florine Gunter, age 100, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2020, at Bedford Care Center of Marion. A graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Gunter was born April 16, 1920, to William V. and Susan Sessions, of Meridian, MS. An active member of First United Methodist Church of Quitman, Florine Gunter was also involved in her Homemaker's Club. She enjoyed doing needlework and won numerous ribbons showing her finished pieces at local art and craft shows. She was a petite, strong-willed Southern lady and loved her husband and family, including her six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Gunter, and their son, Jerry Gunter. Florine is survived by her daughter, Suzette Brandt and her husband, Ed of Virginia Beach, VA, daughter-in-law, Jackie Gunter of Baton Rouge, LA.
