Phillip Williams, 61, of Birmingham, AL, passed away on July 24, 2020. He was born to Vondee and Horace Williams in Quitman, MS.
Phillip was a graduate of Mississippi State University and worked as the VP of Resource Development at Ample Energy, Inc. He was a dedicated and much-loved member of The Rotary Club of Shades Valley in Birmingham. He served in many positions with the rotarians, including most recently as president. He was on the board for Boiling and Bragging, an annual event held for the Critical Care Transport team at Children’s Hospital. The event was his passion, and he succeeded in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Robbie Williams; children, Brock (Sarah) Hamrick, Ryan Rawlings, Erin (Cory) Blanchard, and Lauren (Josh) Barrett; mother, Vondee Williams; father, Horace (Yvette) Williams; brother, Mike Williams; grandchildren, Destiny, Daulton, Gianna, Caleb, Raimi, Brooks, and Samuel; aunt, Myra Tew; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 1st, 2020, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home in Quitman, MS. Funeral services will be immediately following for family only. Masks (not provided) and social distancing will be required for admittance. There will be a streaming option for those wishing to attend virtually.
