Rev. Charles T. Dikes, known to his friends as "Josh", passed away on October 11, 2019, at the age of 85. Josh was the son of F. A. and Elva (Scott) Dikes, born on March 15, 1934.
Charles "Josh" Dikes is survived by his two sons, Doug (Debby) Dikes and David (Sheila) Dikes and sister, Mary Lou Baker. He will lovingly be remembered by his five grandchildren, Lindsey Dikes-Wayman, Brantlee Dikes, Dalton Dikes, Morgan Dikes and Dave Dikes; five great-grandchildren, Lane, Luis, Eli, Easton and Dallis; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, F. A. and Elva Dikes; five sisters, Lucille Busby, Trudie Shirley, Reatha Johnson, Doris Dyall and Merel Busby-Davis; six brothers, Claude Dikes, Tillman Dikes, A.D. Dikes, Doyle Dikes, Steve Dikes and Darvis Dikes; and one daughter, Joann Dikes.
Visitation was held Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Terry Irby officiating. Burial took place in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery (Melvin, AL).
Pallbearers were Chris Wayman, Rory Wayman, Brian Dikes, Tyler Kirkman, Billy Baker and Greg Busby.
