Rev. John Henry Edwards

Rev. John Henry Edwards, 83, of Meridian, Mississippi, passed away on October 27, 2019, at Anderson's Hospital. 

He was born on October 29, 1935, to Bob and Mamie (Falls) Edwards in San Angelo, TX.

He served in the United States Army.  He served as a minister for over 50 years at Rolling Creek Baptist Church, Union Baptist Church and Elim Baptist Church.  After retirement he was a member of Union Baptist Church.

John is survived by his wife, Margie Edwards; sons, Matt Edwards and Evan Edwards; brother, Raymond Edwards; step-brother, Jim Smelly; grandchildren, Cory (Nicole) Edwards, Jacob Edwards and Jackson Edwards; and great-grandchildren, Reylee Edwards and Satcher Edwards. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2019, 5:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.   

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at the Union Baptist Church, with Rev. Dennis Coats, Rev. Kyle Routzahn and Rev. Mike Everett officiating.  The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial took place in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Stacy Rogers, Jared Weir, Kevin Frasier, Tony Ware, Braxton Boswell, Randy Robinson, Jimmy Wilson, Scott White.  Honorary Pallbearers are Everett Webster, C.W.  McLemore, Cory Edwards, Jacob Edwards and Jackson Edwards.
