Funeral services for Robert Lee Moss Sr. were held Saturday November 26, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 3383 County Road 450, Quitman, MS 39355. Interment was in the Church cemetery with Rev. Edward McKenzie, officiating.
Bro. Robert Lee Moss Sr. was born on June 2, 1952 in Quitman MS. He was the tenth sibling of sixteen children born to the late Floyd Moss Sr. and Laura McDonald Moss of Quitman, MS
Bro Robert Lee Moss Sr. joined Elizabeth Baptist Church at early age. As an adult, he married Mary Moss Davis and to that union, they raised three kids. He was a logger for twenty plus years which he retired from due to an injury. He was always the life of the party along with his natural lite beer. He had nothing but love for his fellow man and he would help anybody because he never met a stranger. He loved his family and his friends that was his life.
Bro Robert Lee Moss Sr. departed this life on November 17, 2016 in Butler, AL. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Moss Sr.; his mother, Laura McDonald Moss; four brothers, Charlie Loper, John Arthur Moss, Ray Charles Moss and Floyd Moss, Jr.; six sisters, Eula Pearl Moss, Lulla Moss, Maggie Moss, Annie Laura Moss Nun, Eunice Moss and his twin, Ethel Lee Moss Bester. .…………………………..
Bro Robert Lee Moss, Sr. leaves to cherish his soulful memories: his partner, Clara Mae Gatson of Butler, AL; four sons, Johnathan (Lisa) Burns of Enterprise, MS, Robert Lee Moss, Jr of Meridian, MS, Ray Charles Gatson and Kato (Senta) Gatson, both of Lisman, AL; one daughter, Teresa (Edward) Moss of Meridian, MS; two brothers, Josh (Willie Mae) Moss of Toomsuba, MS and Will (Evelyn) Moss of Pittsburg, CA; two sisters, Tiny Moss and Lola (LV) Sumerall, both of Quitman, MS; twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; his best friend J. K. McRae and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
