Ruby E. Long, 90, of Quitman, MS, passed away on December 7, 2016, at her residence.
She was born on February 4, 1926, to David and Ruby (Burnham) Hayes in Clarke County, MS. She was a lifelong member of East Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Ruby is survived by her son, Ronald G. (Brenda) Long; four daughters, Linda L. (Robert) Beard, Sandra L. (Bobby) Graham, Mona L. (Paul) Sims, and Marsha L. (Lee) Kennedy; brother, Franklin Hayes; sister, Selma Schrimpshire; 13 grandchildren, Kevin Beard, Kimberly Clark, Jonathan Beard, Shawn Graham, Chris Graham, Matt Long, Jason Long, Cory Sims, Brandy Smith, Guy Johnson, Quentin Johnson, LeAnne Lawrence, and Lisa Stephenson, and 32 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bennie Joe Long; and her parents, David and Ruby Hayes.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 9, 2016, 9:00- 11:00 a.m. at East Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Quitman, MS. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9, 11:00 am at the East Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Dennis Coats, Rev. Bo Bankston, David Clark, officiating. Burial will take place in the East Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Kevin Beard, Jonathan Beard, Shawn Graham, Chris Graham, Matt Long, Jason Long, Cory Sims, Guy Johnson, and Quentin Johnson.
