Mr. Walter Edward "Buddy" Cook, 74, of Shubuta, MS passed from this life Friday, March 24, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Quitman on Friday, March 5, 1943 to Thomas Edward Cook and Lois Stallings Cook. He was a member of Leonell Chapel. He had a longtime career as a Truckdriver/Gauger in the Oil Field. Mr. Cook is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Edward Cook and mother, Lois Stallings Cook. He is survived by his wife, Leslie H. Cook, Shubuta, MS; daughters, Michele Cook Hall, Waynesboro, MS, Wendy Cook Courtney (James), Huntsville, AL; brother, Jerry Lamar Cook, Vossburg, MS; sister, Sarah Cook West, Vossburg, MS; 4 grandchildren, Taylor Hall and A. J. Hall, Waynesboro, MS, Kristin Courtney, Meghan Courtney, Huntsville, AL. A Service of Remembrance/Visitation for Mr. Cook will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, March 27, 2017 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity of your choice.
