Services for Weeda Phillips Jefcoat, born March 3, 1932, were held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Grady Crowell officiating. Burial followed in Archusa Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Jefcoat, 84, of Quitman, MS, died Sunday, December 11, 2016, in her home. She was surrounded by family and her faithful caregiver, Brenda Rushing, as she went to be with her Lord. She was a devoted wife, mother and sister who loved her family and had joy in the times she and her family were together. Her life and legacy will continue to live on through her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Jefcoat is survived by her children, Roy Jefcoat, JoAnn Lewis (Butch) and daughter-in-law, Pat Jefcoat; brother, Jimmy Phillips; and sister, Alice Saulters; grandchildren, Ashley Jefcoat, Amanda Jefcoat, Benjamin Jefcoat, Madeline Andrews, Jessica Mitchell; and two great-grandchildren, Stephen Andrews and Carter Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years and together forever through eternity to Joe Jefcoat; also her son, Michael Jefcoat; parents, Robert T. and Hattie Phillips; brothers, Clyde Phillips and Lavelle Phillips; and great-granddaughter, Caroline Andrews.
Pallbearers were Wayne Phillips, Dub Phillips, Steve Phillips, Kenneth Phillips, Wesley Phillips, and Kevin Phillips.
