William Allen Harris, Jr., 92, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on September 17, 2023, at his residence.
He was born on November 5, 1930, to William and Flora Belle (Pippen) Harris in Meridian, Mississippi.
Allen was a member of First Baptist Church of Quitman for more than 70 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family and on the golf course.
Allen is survived by his wife, Jean Martin Harris; daughter, Janet Harris (Bubby) Johnston; son, William Allen (Patty) Harris, III; and grandson, Heath Martin Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Allen Harris, Sr. and Flora Belle Harris.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church (Quitman) with Dr. Gene Neal officiating.
Burial will take place in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Quitman.
Pallbearers will be James Morgan, Johnny Roberts, Heath Harris, Bubby Johnston, Daryl Chancelor and Danny Hardee. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Jim Hearn Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Quitman.
