William Robertus "Bert" McRee, 54, of Shubuta, Mississippi, passed away on June 28, 2023.
He was born on May 4, 1969, to Roderick and Jerrye (Williams) McRee in Meridian, MS.
Bert was a member of Desoto Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church of Quitman, MS, for several years. Bert served on the Board of Directors for the Clarke County Co-Op. He worked for IFCO (International Forestry Company) in Shubuta, MS, where they raise pine seedlings. He loved farm life and taking care of his cattle and animals. He was an outstanding athlete that excelled in all sports.
William is survived by his wife, Shelley Hailes McRee; two daughters, Kaitlyn Elizabeth McRee and Sarah Julianna McRee; son, James William "Will" McRee; father, Roderick McRee; mother, Jerrye McRee; sister, Stephanie (Brad) Penn; mother-in-law, Kay (James) Sanders; brother-in-law, Andrew Phillip (Samantha) Hailes; nephews and nieces, Ethan (Brandi) Howell, Ashton Howell, Corban Penn, Andrew Weston Hailes, and Thomas Kash Hailes; great-niece, Jolee Howell; great-nephew, Gunner Howell; and grandmother-in-Law, Sarah Frances Hailes.
Graveside services were held on Sunday, July 2, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Coats and Dr. Gene Neal officiating.
Burial took place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robbie Mason, David Cochran, Tom Anderson, Mike Culbreth, Ernie Culbreth, Jeffery Gibbs, Lyle Keenan and Scotty Fleming.
