Funeral services for Philip Joseph “Joe Bill” Lewis, 55, of Gilbertown, AL, were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Phillips Funeral Home in Gilbertown with Rev. Chris Sowell officiating. Visitation was held from 12:00 until 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment followed the service in the Gilbertown Cemetery.
Joey was born August 22, 1969, in Mobile, AL, to Clovis and Elizabeth Lewis. He passed away July 27, 2025, at his residence.
Joey had many interests, some of which were hunting, fishing, guns, being outdoors, and restoring antique furniture. He also enjoyed cooking, especially cajun food. Gumbo was his specialty. He loved watching war, crime, and history documentaries. He served his country as a member of the Army National Guard and was a great storyteller. “Joe Bill,” as most folks called him, was a true friend to his friends, but he loved his family above all. To know “Joe Bill” was to love him.

Eathan Riley Lewis (Cadence) of Gilbertown, AL, and Jesse Benjamin Lewis of Toxey, AL; grandchildren, Easton Davis and Emilee Brownlee; parents, Rev.
