The Town of Stonewall held its regular meeting Tuesday, July 5.
Stonewall VFD Fire Chief Zach Wheat informed the board of the new fire elite program that is now required by the state to continue to receive state and local funding, and requested help entering the fire hydrant information. No motion was made.
A motion was made and approved to:
Allow Coming Home to Clarke County to be held April 29, 2023
To hold a public hearing on August 2 for the District 6 Hazard Mitigation Plan
To take under advisement the request from Creature Comforts to increase the town’s monthly contribution
To hire Mason Thomas as part-time police officer
To accept the 2021 Independent Accountant’s Report
To begin receiving departmental reports in writing beginning August 2.
The 2022-2023 budget was discussed.
The 2022-2023 tax levy was discussed.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting until August.
Town meetings are open to the public and are held the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at town hall.
