Politics and Bedfellows
It's hard for me to agree with Europeans upon much, except tires and cars, anymore. I have always thought that Porsche had some of the greatest designs and since they normally ran on Pirelli's I became a fan of both. After watching Europe descends into the morass of the European Union (it's worked for us, right?) the collective overreach of the Unionists have created something right out of the USSR. There have been signs of the fog starting to lift with heads popping up here and there. Brexit seems like a legitimate place to start.
It has long been clear that Sharia law was incompatible with the conventions on human rights regarding the place of women in public and private life. The European Court of Human Rights wrote, in a decision, that the "institution of Sharia law and a theocratic regime were incompatible with the requirements of a democratic society". Just a few months ago, Theresa May, British Home Secretary, said that the British government is to launch a full review of the application of Islamic Sharia law in England and Wales. The review will focus on a number of issues: the treatment of women in divorce, domestic violence, custody, inheritance, genital mutilation, and discrimination. There are thought to be over 85 Sharia courts of councils working there.
"The ends justify the means". "At the beginning of an action I might not be able to determine whether that action is morally right or wrong, but when the morally right goal is achieved, and then the steps taken must be morally right?" "I shall do a minor evil to achieve a greater good, for it shall make the evils right". All these statements mean the same thing. But are they right? We have been having some good Wednesday night discussions about the human conscience and how it can lead you astray. For some years the fight has been enjoined, by those who see and think differently, over the soul of our great country. It's my belief that some consciences have been warped as to believe that it's ok to taint yourself if your plan is to take a bath someday.
I'm as curious as to why those who report nationally haven't stuck to the story of the DNC and liberalism being in bed with Islam and its record on human (women's) rights. They have claimed the moral high ground on equal rights for years with their spouting of platitudes to the public and denigrations to the lesser folk who don't really understand that to run a political machine takes great sums of cash. The Muslim world has cash. The liberal agenda has needs. A partnership has been formed that looks only to the ends, not to the means.
The Russian hacking uproar was just a red herring to get us away from the stink of the election and the almost coronation of an uncommon criminal. We might never know the extent of the corruption from the Clinton Foundations ties between the Middle East and the DNC or how close we were to the wholesale giveaway of our government. I think a lot of the stink being raised now is because of the losers having to change directions so suddenly on all the promises that were made and money that changed hands. How that partnership can withstand scrutiny is something that will just have to play out. It vexes me how my liberal friends can overlook it. Until next week. ags.
