AMENDMENT TO ORDINANCE NO. 322
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING PROCEDURES FOR CONDUCTING THE REQUIRED MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF QUITMAN
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF QUITMAN,
SECTION 1.
This ordinance shall be amended by changing “Section 1-9 Order of Business” as follows:
Section 1-9 Order of Business
All meetings of the Board of Aldermen shall be open to the public. Promptly at the hour set by law on the day of each regular meeting, the members of the Board of Aldermen, the Mayor, the City Clerk and the City Attorney shall take their regular stations in the boardroom, and the business of the Board of Aldermen shall be taken up for consideration and disposition in the following order:
(1) Call to Order
(2) Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance
(3) Roll call and Establishment of Quorum
(4) Recognition of Visitors
(5) Public Comments/ Appearances
(6) Confirmation of the Agenda
(7) Department Managers Report
(8) Reports of Standing and Special Committees
(9) Unfinished Business
(10) New Business
(11) Claims Docket or Payment of Expenses
(12) Miscellaneous Announcements and Summary Comments
(13) Executive Session
(14) Adjournment
Section 1-18. Decorum Preservation: Sergeant-at-Arms
The Chief of Police or such members of the Police Department as he/she may designate shall be sergeant-at-arms of the City Board of Aldermen meeting including executive sessions.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after its passage, and after publication according to law. Any provision of any ordinance of the City of Quitman in conflict herewith is hereby repealed.
