Jesse Miller is the Salutatorian for the Quitman High School class of 2022.
Over the years, she has been active in a variety of extracurricular activities.
“I have been a varsity softball player and soccer player. I’m a prominent leader on each team,” explained Jesse. “I’ve been MVP for the past two years in softball and past two or three years in soccer.”
Along with sports, she actively participates in different clubs at the school.
“I am an active member in Beta Club, FBLA, HOSA, and National Honor Society,” stated Jesse.
She loves to be able to spend time with her family and friends. It is actually spending time with her family that has inspired her with what she plans to do in her future career.
“I enjoy spending time with my family and working at my mom’s clinic,” explained Jesse. “That’s what made me pursue the dreams that I have. I’m planning to attend Mississippi State University in the coming up years. My major is Poultry Science. I plan to apply to vet school in the next three to four years. Then, I’ll hopefully come home and be a veterinarian in my hometown at my mom’s clinic.”
She has made many great memories over the years and has advice for the students who are still up and coming:
“Keep working, and stay strong in your beliefs,” advised Jesse. “Be who you are, and don’t allow people to influence you. Know that whatever you do that it’s good enough if you’re trying. Don’t be ashamed of what you can or can’t do. Show your talents, be who you are, and stay focused.”
