Why are you running for office?
As a longtime resident of Quitman, I love this city and want to see it prosper. I feel like the relationships I have built over the years can be beneficial in working with our residents, city employees, and elected officials to help Quitman prosper.
What type of work experience do you have?
I am a retired educator with over 30 years’ experience teaching and coaching. During my career, I served in many leadership roles tasked with managing budgets/finances, planning, and supervision.
What do you hope to accomplish if elected?
If elected, I would like to collaborate with the supervisors and other elected officials to bring more economic growth to our city and county as well as lobby to get the dam fixed at Archusa Water Park.
From the perspective of the office you are seeking, what is the most important issue facing your municipality?
The biggest issue I see is making the City of Quitman more attractive so that industries and people want to locate here. We need to continue to improve our infrastructure, curb appeal, and overall safety in our neighborhoods.
What makes you a good candidate for this position?
My experiences as a retired educator and coach as well as being a long-time resident of Quitman give me insight into what the citizens of Quitman expect and the relationships to help move this city forward.
