Kendan Allen chose to sign with Southeastern Baptist College. He faced some adversity over the past year and feels like Southeastern Baptist is where God is calling him to attend.
“I had a scare, and a bunch of colleges that were talking to me stopped talking to me because of the scare,” explained Kendan. “Southeastern Baptist kept calling and asking, and I feel like it’s kind of a sign from God that this is where I need to go to continue my education and athletic career.”
He has played baseball his whole life and truly loves the sport.
“I’ve played baseball since I was able to walk pretty much,” stated Kendan. “I like everything about it—from the hard fights you go through in each game, each team competing against each other, the sportsmanship, and just giving it your all and letting the end result of the score determine your outcome.”
Coach Johnson is proud of the work ethic that Kendan has demonstrated and what all he has been able to overcome this year.
“Kendan Allen is what we define as a grinder,” declared Johnson. “The kid works every day and works hard. To see him get this chance and continue his baseball career is special for me because I knew at one point the chances were slim for Kendan. He had some adversity this year that he had to fight through, and to see him get awarded is just a testament to how hard of a worker he is.”
Kendan will continue to work hard at Southeastern Baptist College, where he will perform as the pitcher.
