Leading off the festivities is the Quitman Woman's Club Annual Taste Tea and Social Time on Thursday, December 1, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the McNair-Gavin House, located at 116 East Church Street, Quitman. Homes and businesses need to be decorated by Sunday, November 27, with winners being announced on Thursday, December 1.
Some of the features of the Ole' Tyme Christmas Festival will include the following: Carolers at the Courthouse (individuals, groups, and choirs); Little Feet Street (a designated play area for children); Photo with Santa; Smokin' on the Tracks (BBQ vendors); Local Businesses and Vendors, Lighting of the Christmas Tree, and much more.
Local businesses will be staying open later than usual on all three evenings, December 1st - 3rd, to allow our customers early Christmas shopping.
We are offering complimentary booth space to vendors if they register before October 1. Local businesses with an office or store location not within the festival area will receive complimentary booth space on Downtown Main Street. The vendor form is available on the City of Quitman webpage (www.cityquitman.net) and the Quitman Main Street Facebook page. You may also pick up a form at Quitman City Hall.
