Ruth Claudette Denham, 80, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on September 27, 2022, at her residence. She was born on June 18, 1942, to Otis and Bessie (Willis) Shelly in Meridian, MS. Ruth was a faithful member and Sunday School Teacher at Bethany Church.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Bruce) Beckman; son, Richie (Beth) Denham; six grandchildren, Miranda Denham, David (Laci) Thompson, Randall (Kim) Denham, Blake (Nicole) Denham, Naomi (Jeremy) Shepherd, and Dawson (Morgan) Denham; 11 great-grandchildren, AvaLee Mashburn, John Mashburn, Ethan Thompson, Sophie Thompson, Kylee Thompson, Paislee Denham, Blayklee Denham, Maverick Denham, Lane Fleming, Avaleigh Shepherd, and Addie Mae Denham; three brothers, Ricky (Joy) Shelly, Ronnie Shelly, and Raymond (Debbie) Shelly; sister Verda (Jackson) Day; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Otis Shelly; mother, Bessie Lee Shelly; husband, John Thomas Denham; son, Randy Denham; and two brothers, James Shelly and Jerry Shelly.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 30, 2022, after 1:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2:30 p.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Lafferty officiating. Burial will take place in the Elim Baptist Church Cemetery.
