Samuel "David" McDonald Sr., 69, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on August 18, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on July 20, 1956, to Thomas and Ruth (Thomas) McDonald in Middletown, OH.
David was a longtime employee and retired from Baker-Hughes oilfield services. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, lawn work, hunting, and spending time with his dogs. He was a loving husband, father and paw-paw that enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.
David is survived by his wife, Susan Dianne Miller McDonald; son, Samuel "Sam" David (Meghan) McDonald, Jr.; two daughters, Christy (Lee) Lenahan and Darla Celeste (Alex) McDonald; four grandchildren, Max Dean, Leo Dean, Penelope Elwood, and Evangeline Lenahan; four brothers, Tommy McDonald, Mark (Marla) McDonald, Don (Shem) McDonald, and Roger McDonald; father-in-law, Herbert G. Miller; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Warren McDonald; mother, Annie Ruth McDonald; granddaughter, Hailey Dean; and mother-in-law, Henrietta Crowell Miller.
Visitation was held Friday, August 22, 2025, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Friday, August 22, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Irby officiating.
Burial took place in the Harmony Cemetery.
