Sandra Kay O'Neil, 61, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on July 17, 2026, at her residence.
She was born on July 21, 1964, to Floyd and Faye (Dearman) McCarra in Mobile, Alabama.
Sandra was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Alabama. She was an adjunct professor at the University of Alabama Livingston Campus and taught school for 25 years. Sandra also taught Sunday school at Manassa Church for many years. She and her husband Eric owned and operated Railroad Bakery in Quitman, MS. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Eric Patrick O'Neil; two sons, Zachary O'Neil and Sean (Jose) O'Neil; daughter, Claire (Wyatt) Whigham; two sisters, Kellie (Henry) Cook and Connie (Sean) Ferguson; four grandchildren, Luna O'Neil, Hunter Smith, Rouen Whigham, and Camden Whigham; mother, Raebeth Jacobs; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Horace "Curl" McCarra; mother, Artie Faye McCarra; and father, James Leonard Jacobs.
Pallbearers were Bryan O'Neil, Kevin Crane, James Mosley, Wyatt Whigham, Jose O'Neil, and Billy Lewis.
Visitation was held Monday, July 20, 2026, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Manassa Methodist Church, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 20, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at the Manassa Methodist Church with Rev. Keyon Smith officiating.
Burial took place in the Manassa Cemetery.
