Jones College swept the MACCC weekly softball awards.
Jayden Sawyer was named Pitcher of the Week and Emily Mizelle was named Player of the Week.
Sawyer, a sophomore righthander from Mobile, Ala., tossed back-to-back no hitters for the Bobcats last week. She punched out 14 and had two walks in a 5-0 win over Southwest and had nine strikeouts and four walks in an 8-0 victory over Mississippi Delta. She has allowed just two earned runs in her last 18.0 innings pitched.
For the season, Sawyer is 8-2 with a 2.65 ERA. She has pitched 68.0 innings, allowed just 33 hits with 108 strikeouts.
Mizelle, a sophomore third baseman from Mobile, Ala., had three home runs and nine RBIs as the Bobcats went 4-0. She has hit safely in 27-of-30 games. She was 1-for-2 with a single in a 3-2 win over Southwest and 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in a 5-0 win over the Lady Bears. She was 2-for3 with two home runs and five RBIs in a 17-6 win over Mississippi Delta and she was 2-for-4 with two singles and an RBI in an 8-0 victory over the Lady Trojans.
For the season, Mizelle is batting .494 with 20 home runs and 76 RBIs.
