Enterprise School District
For the first time since 2019, the state has officially provided accountability results to school districts in the state based on annual assessments given. Schools and districts are assessed based on their state test performance, student growth from year to year, and graduation rates.
Enterprise School District is proud of the great accomplishments it has made based on the most recent accountability scores.
“We are thrilled about the accountability results that were recently released by MDE,” expressed Enterprise Superintendent Josh Perkins. “It is a testament to the commitment to excellence that surrounds this wonderful community.”
It is one of only three districts in the state to finish in the Top 10 for three areas of proficiency: reading, math, and science. This is the first time the school district has ever made such a strong achievement. It is also the highest they have ever ranked in College and Career Readiness, showing that they are preparing students for other things, such as the ACT and ACT WorkKeys. They know how important those assessments are for students to enter college or the workforce, and they have shown through their results that they are preparing their students well.
While the accountability rating shows an overview of the school performance, the district does not see it as effectively showing everything that its students are capable of. Perkins believes there is more taking place in the district that can’t be measured through accountability results.
“It’s just a snapshot of the district—that’s it,” proclaimed Perkins. “We celebrate small successes each day in our classrooms that cannot be measured by an accountability model. Many times that accomplishment will have more of a lasting impact on a child than whether he or she can score Level 5 on a standardized test. We’re extremely proud of where we are and even more excited about what the future holds for ESD.”
These are the official results from the 2021-2022 accountability data:
Enterprise School District will be an “A-rated” district and will finish as the #8 rated district in Mississippi.
Enterprise High School will be an “A-rated” school and will finish as the #21 rated high school in Mississippi.
Enterprise Middle School will be a “B-rated” school and will finish as the #33 rated middle school in Mississippi.
Enterprise Elementary will be an “A-rated” school and will finish as the #3 rated elementary school in Mississippi.

Quitman School District
Quitman School District is also celebrating growth and success after the accountability results were released.
The schools and district have made huge strides and accomplishments since the last accountability results were released in 2019. One of the schools that is celebrating the most is Quitman Lower Elementary, which has been declared an “A-rated” school for the 2021-2022 school year.
Quitman Lower Elementary gets its score from students who attended QLE in second grade and test in third/fourth grades. Points are collected for students who score 4 or 5 in reading and math in third grade and growth points for students who move up growth levels, proficiency levels, and move to level 5 or stay level 5 in fourth grade.
Research is clear that teacher quality is the most important factor impacting student performance. Students who have effective teachers for three years in a row typically show high achievement. Quitman Lower Elementary’ s "A" rating is the result of quality instruction that laid the foundation for high achievement in third and fourth grade. Without quality instruction at Quitman Lower Elementary, students would not be able to close learning gaps in one or even two years. Therefore, Quitman Upper Elementary and Quitman Lower Elementary depend on one another.
These are the official results for Quitman School District based on the 2021-2022 accountability data:
Quitman School District will be a “C-rated” school.
Quitman High School will be a “C-rated” school and is only 11 points away from being a “B.”
Quitman Junior High School will be a “D-rated” school and has increased in proficiency.
Quitman Upper Elementary will be a “B-rated” school.
Quitman Lower Elementary will be an “A-rated” school.
Congratulations Quitman School District for your success and growth!
