September is Voter Registration Month. Make sure your voter registration is current so your voice can be heard in the upcoming general election.
If you have never registered to vote and are 18 years old on or before November 7, you must register at least 30 days before the election. Each person gets one vote, so register and vote. To register, go to the Circuit Clerk office at the Clarke County Courthouse and register before October. Learn where your correct voting precinct is located.
If your name and/or address has changed since you last voted, you will need to update your voter information. To make the appropriate changes, simply go to the Circuit Clerk office at the Clarke County Courthouse and correct your name and/or address, or call 601-776-3111.
If you were told during the last voting event that you were at the wrong precinct or voted on an affidavit ballot because your name was not in the book, you will need to check with the Circuit Clerk office at the Clarke County Courthouse to address the issue, or call 601-776-3111. It is a privilege to vote, so make sure your voice is heard.
Voting matters, so if you did not vote in recent elections, go to the correct precinct in November and vote. Make sure your voice is heard at the polls.
You will need to make sure to have a photo ID with you when you go to your precinct to vote.
If you have any questions or doubts, call the Circuit Clerk office at 601-776-3111 for clarification and instructions.
