The Town of Shubuta will hold a Special Election for the unexpired term of Alderwoman Toria Hoze-Miles who passed away recently.
The special election will be held Tuesday, May 17, during the usual voting hours of 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Multi Purpose Building.
Only those electors who are residents of the Town of Shubuta city limits will be eligible to vote or quality as a candidate.
All persons interested in qualifying as a candidate for the office of Alderman must file a petition with the City Clerk during business hours of 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. signed by at least 15 qualified electors of Shubuta at least 20 days before the date of the election.
Petition forms may be obtained from town hall. No qualifying fee is required, and the election will be conducted in the same manner as any municipal general elections, including absentee voting.
