President Trump is a big fan of college sports and hosted “Saving College Sports” to hopefully solve problems that have been caused by the NIL. The President appointed 50 movers and shakers in the sports world. There were conference commissioners, professionals, NCAA leaders, Olympic athletes as well as retired coaches Nick Saban and Urban Myers.
Coach Saban stated that we need a new system to save the game. Myers was quick to the point. “Get rid of the NIL. It is nothing but a pay for play system.”
The President said he would write an executive order this week that he hopes will go a long way in solving many of the issues raised at the meeting.
