The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is excited to inform the public of the reopening of George P. Cossar State Park in Oakland, Mississippi, and Wall Doxey State Park in Holly Springs, Mississippi.
Effective Friday, June 5, 2026, reservations are now open for stays for both parks.
Cossar State Park will allow reservations starting June 11, 2026, for visitors to begin enjoying camping, lodging, and day use facilities once again. Jones Creek Campground (camping sites 48-92) will remain closed at this time.
Wall Doxey State Park will allow reservations once again starting June 15, 2026, for all facilities except camping sites 1-49. Those sites will remain closed to the public as MDWFP staff continue to clean up debris.
We look forward to welcoming visitors back to Cossar State Park and Wall Doxey State Park to enjoy summer fun with friends and family, and we thank all who were involved in the diligent efforts to restore both parks following the impacts of winter storm Fern earlier this year.
Both parks will partake in patriotic festivities for the Fourth of July weekend in celebration of America’s 250th birthday. Plan your stay at stateparks.ms and get your reservations in while spots last!
