EUNICE, Louisiana – Sakyia White (Tuscaloosa, Alabama) scored 19 points, JaKayla Johnson (Clinton) added 18 and Olivia Knight (Pearl) had 10 points and seven dimes as No. 3 Jones built a double digit halftime lead and never looked back in a 71-52 win over Southern Arkansas University Tech here Saturday afternoon.
Jones improved to 2-0 with its 18th consecutive regular season win, while the Rockets fell to 3-2.
The Bobcats led by eight after one quarter and 38-24 at the half. The lead grew to 22 after three quarters.
All 12 Bobcats in uniform touched the floor in the win, including Ashlynn Freeman (Rosharon, Texas) making her JC debut with five points and six rebounds.
Jones shot 40 percent from the floor but was just 4-of-20 from beyond the arc. Alexandria Johnson had a team-high 15 for the Rockets.
Mackenzie Thomas (Laurel) filled up the stat sheet with five points, five assists, six steals and six rebounds.
The Bobcats travel to No. 10 (Division II) ASU Mid-South (2-3) for a 5:30 p.m. tip on Nov. 18.
