“Then Herod…sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under” (Matt. 2:16) Horror rose up in the land as Herod’s henchmen traveled throughout the land, laying swords to children. His hatred was over the birth of the promised Messiah; yet, innocent children were the recipients of his anger.
The social battle over abortion is a hot topic in our day. Children are being slaughtered in our country—not by a dictator, but by politicians dressed in three-piece suits. In the name of ‘planned parenthood,’ these politicians promote a culture of death. And millions of voters support these modern-day ‘Herods’ by continuing to elect them to positions of power.
Every god-fearing person knows that abortion is the murder of innocent children. However, there is another type of slaying taking place in our nation that is more subtle—the promotion of the homosexual and transgender lifestyle to the younger generation. Washington elites scream to “follow the science” in their push for advancements. However, when the ‘science’ doesn’t agree with their social narrative, they reject science to justify their secular worldview.
Major universities are on the front line of destroying women’s sports in America. How? By allowing male athletes to participate in women’s sports because they identify as a ‘female.’ Take a DNA sample from the person, and the science will tell you whether they are male or female. We are witnessing a generation of young people giving themselves over to the unnatural sexual passions, working destruction in their lives, and bringing embarrassment and heartache to their families.
As our culture moves further away from godly principles and standards, the homosexual and transgender crowd will push more of these unnatural lifestyles through public education. Universities attempt to ‘normalize’ the sexual behavior of homosexuals, bisexuals, and transgender. The youth are being killed—not with swords, but with words. Words that lie and justify lifestyles that the Bible condemns.
As the church, we must teach and stand where God stands—we can’t be faithful to Christ and do any less. We don’t have to apologize or shrink back from declaring God’s Word. After all, it will be the scriptures that will judge every man. Our voice must be heard. We must speak. If your child or grandchild is in one of these shameless lifestyles, warn them of God’s eternal judgment and call them to repentance and faith in Christ. The Lord offers redemption and healing from the gravest of sins if a person will repent and surrender to Jesus Christ.
Through broken boldness, we must call homosexuality and transgender what the Scriptures say they are—sexual perversions that demonstrate a rebellion toward God. Also, we must call abortion what it is—the murder of innocent children. We can offer grace and speak truthfully at the same time. We must not be silent. As we offer God’s forgiveness to all through the Gospel, we must cry out… Stop Slaying Our Children!
