Sheriff Todd Kemp and Superintendents Minnie Dace and Josh Perkins met with the board Monday, June 20. They informed the board that the schools would like to hire two additional school resource officers to help deter violence in the schools such as the shooting in Texas. Currently there are only two, one at the Enterprise campus and one at Quitman. Both schools have two separate campuses and are a small distance from each other with railroad tracks in between which could slow down an officer trying to get to the other campus.
