Before the Panthers could step out onto the W. C. Jones Field for their first quarter, four captains were chosen to represent the Panthers at the coin toss. Those players were Jeremiah Harris, Carlos Morgan, DeMondrae Stribling, and Raco Pearson. The coin toss determined the Panthers would kick off the game with Jias Davis.
