Mr. Thomas Wibbon Odom, Sr., age 84, of the Langsdale Community in Shubuta, Mississippi, passed from this life on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Matherville, Mississippi, on Thursday, February 27, 1941, to Loys Wilbon Odom and Annie Lucas Odom.
Mr. Odom was a member of Geneva Presbyterian Church and was baptized as a youth in Buckatunna Creek. He retired after 38 years of service as a contract mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. A man who loved the outdoors, Mr. Odom was an avid hunter and fisherman and had a lifelong passion for farming.
He was preceded in death by his father, Loys Wilbon Odom; his mother, Annie Lucas Odom; and his granddaughter, Ella Grace Smith.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Clarice Welborn Odom of Langsdale, MS; one son, Thomas Wibbon Odom, Jr. (Madyson) of Clarkdale, MS; three daughters, Penne Anne Satcher (Chuck) of Langsdale, MS, Amy Sampson (Matt) of Crandall, GA, and Christina Smith (Bryant) of Langsdale, MS. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Autumn McCoy (Matt), Anna Satcher, Alex Sampson, Ava Sampson, Abraham Smith, Sawyer Smith, Elliott Smith, Scarlett Smith, Langstyn Odom, and Ledger Odom; and two great-grandchildren, Noah McCoy and Addyson McCoy.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Geneva Presbyterian Church in Matherville, MS. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Doug Manning, Rev. Bob Followell, and Rev. Pike Smith officiating. Interment will be in Geneva Presbyterian Cemetery, Matherville, MS.
