A local man is facing three charges — including one of first-degree murder — after being arrested in relation to a homicide in Waynesboro on October 4, 2022.
According to Waynesboro Police Department Investigations Commander Lieutenant Don Hopkins, Chance Fabian Jones of Claiborne Jones Road in Waynesboro was taken into custody and had been charged with residential burglary, aggravated assault with a firearm and first-degree murder. He made his initial appearance in Municipal Court on Thursday.
Joslin Q. Napier, 24, of William Drive, who attended Quitman High School, was found dead by officers at her residence around 11 p.m. on October 4, 2022, Hopkins said.
Late Wednesday afternoon, Hopkins said Jones had been charged in the case.
Hopkins stated the incident appeared to be a domestic disturbance of some type but that he could not release details due to the nature of the investigation that was continuing.
