Law enforcement officials worked for six days at a residence on County Road 446 where a search warrant was executed after law officials obtained information that a large amount of stolen property was at the residence.
Residents, Hank and Angela Gandy, were both arrested and charged with receiving stolen property on Wednesday, August 17th.
“There will be multiple other charges that are pending,” said Chief Deputy Barry White. “We are in the process of having to inventory all the items, sift through all the case reports of property that has been reported stolen.” Items recovered stolen included furniture, game cameras, laptop computers, four wheelers, side-by-side off road vehicles, trailers and items from hunting camps. Additional charges against the couple are expected to come out of Choctaw County, Alabama as well, according to White.
Sheriff Todd Kemp stated the investigators are appealing to those members of area hunting camps that have reported or even may not have reported a theft. There was an enormous amount of hunting items stolen in both Clarke County and Choctaw County.
“My deputies and investigators have worked diligently the last few days and put in some long hours working this case,” said Sheriff Todd Kemp. “I am very grateful for their hard work and they are continuing to work to return items back to their rightful owners.”
If anyone has reported any items stolen, you can contact the sheriff’s department. If possible, bring some form of proof of ownership and proof of identification.
Bond was set at $25,000 each and both have bonded out of jail.
Officials are also looking for a third individual, Pete N. Volking, in connection to this case. If anyone has any information on the location of Volking, please contact CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-855-485-8477.
