Lucille Virginia Williams, 72 year old, died Thursday morning in a house fire at her residence at 149 Basstown Road, Stonewall.
Clarke County Fire Investigator Shane Harper stated that the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but no foul play is suspected.
911 calls around 4:30 a.m. were made by neighbors reporting the sound of an explosion. Upon arrival the home was fully engulfed and neighbors reported that someone was still inside the home, stated Harper.
Investigators were able to locate the body around 6:30 a.m. in the bedroom of the home.
After investigating, the state fire marshal and fire investigator determined the oxygen tanks inside the home had exploded once the house was engulfed in flames.
Stonewall, Enterprise and Rolling Creek VFD responded to the early morning fire.
