Christmas assistance
The Salvation Army Christmas Assistance Registration will be held at the following:
Jones/Jasper Co. October 3, 4 & 7 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Oct. 10 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. The Salvation Army, 205 N. 13th Ave., Community Room, Laurel, MS. (All counties can register in Jones County on any of these days.)
Wayne/Clarke Co. October 5 from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Wayne County City Auditorium.
Smith/Simpson Co. Oct. 3 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Mendenhall Community Center, or Oct. 6 from 9 a.m.-noon at the Magee Civic Center.
Registration will be on these dates ONLY. There will be NO registration with our office after these dates unless there is proof of emergencies in household such as death, burnout, etc.)
DO NOT BRING CHILDREN WITH YOU!
You must bring the following information with you:
Social Security Cards - For all members of the family or household.
One other form of identification - such as driver’s license, Medicaid card, Medicare card, birth certificate or immunization card. This is required for all members.
Phone numbers - If you do not have a phone, please give the number of a relative or neighbor that will actually get a message to you.
Address - We need your mailing address if its not the same as your physical address.
Proof of income and all bills - You must have a CURRENT check stub or a copy of a current check. If you receive SSI or Social Security, a letter stating how much you receive per month will be sufficient. If there is no current income for the household, please bring notarized documentation of financial support. Your most recent food stamp determination letter will be helpful. Bring ALL BILLS. If bills are in someone’s else’s name, bring all their bills/income/id.
If you have children - We will need correct sizes for each child (please do not guess at these sizes) This is for infants through 10 years of age. Sizes will be needed for shirt and blouse, pants, dress, underclothes, socks and shoes.
If you live with someone else, you must bring a letter from the person you live with stating that you do live at this address.
