This past Friday night, the Enterprise Bulldogs (5-3,1-1), played the Union Yellow Jackets (7-1,1-1), in an away conference game.
The game started off with Enterprise receiving the ball and starting out on their own 22 yard line. The Bulldogs were forced to punt on their first drive which gave Union the ball on their own 45 yard line. The Bulldog defense was fired up though, as the Bulldogs forced Union to punt the ball after a quick 3 and out drive. The Bulldog offense scored the first points of the game on their next drive with a 49 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Dalton Baxley to running back Lane Kennedy; however, a failed 2 point conversion run kept the score at 6-0.
Enterprise also recovered the next kick, but was not able to score after Union forced a turnover on downs to get the ball back on their own 14 yard line. The first quarter ended with Union on the 50 yard line driving down field.
The second quarter opened up with the Bulldog defense forcing a turnover on downs to receive the ball on their own 35 yard line. The Bulldogs drove downfield, but were not able to score after Union stopped the Bulldog offense and forced Enterprise to punt. Union then scored their first points of the game with a 5 yard touchdown run by quarterback Tradarius Harris, and successful 2 point conversion pass to Jevon Williams from Tradarius Harris putting Union up 8-6. The second quarter ended with Union up 8-6.
The third quarter opened up with Union scoring a touchdown on a 2 yard touchdown run by quarterback Tradarius Harris and successful 2 point conversion pass to Steven Lewis to put the Yellow Jackets up 16-6. The Bulldogs got the ball back, but a fumble on the drive gave Union the ball back on their own 25 yard line. Union scored later on a 67 yard touchdown run by quarterback Tradarius Harris, and a successful 2 point conversion pass to Steven Lewis which put Union up 24-6 late in the third quarter.
The Bulldog offense continued to stutter as they had to punt on their next drive, giving Union the ball back on the Enterprise 43 yard line. Union drove downfield and scored on a 3 yard touchdown run by quarterback Tradarius Harris, but a failed 2 point conversion pass kept the score at 30-6. The third quarter ended with Enterprise on their own 43 yard line.
The fourth quarter started with the Bulldogs scoring on a Derrick Moore 14 yard touchdown run, but a failed 2 point conversion attempt kept the score at 30-12.
Union got the ball back and scored on a 41 yard touchdown run by quarterback Tradarius Harris, and a successful point after touchdown kick making the score 37-12 with time running out on the clock. Enterprise got the ball back, but failed to score and was forced to punt the ball back to Union.
The Yellow Jackets started their drive on their own 40 yard line, but the Bulldogs forced Union to punt the ball away. Enterprise fumbled the punt, and Union recovered at the Enterprise 24 yard line. The Bulldog defense forced Union to turn the ball over on downs and started their drive on their own 30 yard line.
On the first play of the drive, Zach Kyle broke free for a 70 yard touchdown run, and a successful 2 point conversion run by Kaleb Fisher made the score 37-20. Union recovered the kick and knelt with the ball to run the clock out and seal the 37-20 loss for the Enterprise Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs will now look to rebound this Friday night against district rival Heidelberg. Come out and support your Enterprise Bulldogs this Friday night in Enterprise at 7 o’clock.
