Following an impressive 56-18 win over Richton, Enterprise looks to continue their winning form against the Stringer Red Devils. Yellow quickly became the most hated color at the game as penalty flags rained down all night. The Bulldogs would return the opening kickoff to their 45-yard line. #4 Lane Kennedy takes the Bulldogs all the way to the 8-yard line on the first play from scrimmage. Two penalties in succession make it 2nd and goal from the 24, and the Bulldogs drive stalls out. They are stopped by the Red Devils on a 4th down attempt from the 10- yard line. Stringer starts from their own 10-yard line and tries to start a drive to score first, but a fumbled snap on 3rd and 4 halts their progress. Enterprise takes the ball on the 44. A 3rd and 2 is stuffed in the backfield to bring up a 4th and 5 situation. The Bulldogs call on #4 Lane Kennedy, and he gets the first down to keep the drive alive, although only shortly. After a penalty moves them back, the Bulldogs turnover the ball with a fumble on the 39-yard line. On their first play of the drive, the Red Devils fumble but recover it to make it 2nd and 15. Stringer then finishes out the first quarter by converting on a 3rd and 3 situation. Stringer starts off the second quarter on the right track with a 36-yard touchdown run by #6 Thomas to make it 6-0 Red Devils. The Bulldogs answer back by driving down the field to the red zone, where #3 Chris Millsap converts a 4th and 1 and also picks up a touchdown. The Bulldogs take the lead with a successful 2 point conversion by #12 Derrick Moore making it 8-6. After the kickoff, the Stringer offense is forced to punt and pins Enterprise at their own 9-yard line. On the second play of the drive, the ball is fumbled by #4 Lane Kennedy and is recovered by Stringer on the 4-yard line. Stringer answers quick with a quarterback keeper by #13 Williams to take the lead 12-8. Stringer then attempts an onside kick, but it does not go the required 10 yards and Enterprise takes possession at the 48-yard line. The Bulldogs march down the field and cap off the drive with a 27 yard touchdown run by #12 Derrick Moore. After a failed two point attempt, the score is 14-12. After the kickoff, Stringer gets the ball to the 31-yard line and #13 Williams connects with #8 Barber for a touchdown. A failed two point conversion makes it 18-14. Enterprise can't score fast enough, and the game goes into halftime. Stringer falls into a 4th and 1 on their first drive of the half and tries to draw the Bulldogs offside with a hard count. A Red Devil jumps offside to make it 4th and 6, and Stringer decides to punt the ball away. Enterprise starts with the ball on the on the 43-yard line. The Bulldogs get the ball to 34-yard line but the Stringer defense forces a turnover on downs. Stringer has a chance to further increase the lead, but the Enterprise defense forces a three and out. The Bulldogs get the ball on the 48-yard line. The Bulldogs drive down the field, but are faced with a 4th and 4 around the 34-yard line. Enterprise calls on #12 Derrick Moore to get the first down and also a 30 yard touchdown the next play to end the quarter. The Bulldogs start the fourth quarter after a successful two point conversion with the lead, 22-18. After a pass attempt and two penalties put them on the 13-yard line, Stringer looks as if they will go score to take the lead. The Bulldog defense holds strong in the end and forces the Red Devils to a turnover on downs. The Red Devils put up their own defensive stop and force the Bulldogs to punt from the 24-yard line. Stringer gets the ball on the 41-yard line and starts to muster a drive down the field, but two would-have-been touchdown passes are called back because of penalties. The Red Devils cannot regain their momentum and punt the ball to the 10-yard line. The Bulldogs cannot get the first downs needed to run the clock out and are forced to punt. Luckily for Enterprise, Stringer’s passes could not connect, and the Bulldogs win 22-18. The Bulldogs will face the Lumberton Panthers this Friday at Lumberton.
