After a hard fought win last Friday against Bay Springs, Enterprise looks to get into the playoffs with a win on senior night. Enterprise receives to start the game and takes the ball to the 31-yard line. A fourth and five situation comes up early in the drive but is converted. The Bulldogs drive down the field to the 2-yard line where Chris Milsap runs for a touchdown. The two-point conversion is good and Enterprise takes the lead 8-0. Newton takes over on the 49-yard line. On the first play from scrimmage #23 runs for a 51 yard touchdown. The two-point conversion is no good, and Enterprise leads 8-6. Enterprise returns the kickoff to the 32-yard line. Enterprise converts a 4th and inches but later on in the drive the Bulldogs can not convert a 4th and 1. Newton takes the ball on the 44-yard line. The Tigers drive the ball down the field and find themselves in a 4th and 5 situation to start the second quarter. Newton converts the 4th and 5 and goes on to convert two more fourth down situations on their way to a 2 yard touchdown pass from the quarterback #2. The two point conversion is good, and Newton leads 14-8. Enterprise returns the ball to the 28-yard line. After a short drive Enterprise is forced to punt, and the ball is downed at the 40-yard line. Newton drives down the field, but a penalty costs them as they fail to convert a fourth and long attempt. Enterprise takes over at the 24-yard line, but the Bulldogs can’t capitalize on the turnover and fumble, giving Newton the ball on the 40-yard line. After a quick pass the quarterback, #2, keeps it himself for a 28 yard touchdown. The PAT is good and Newton leads 21-8. After the kickoff ,Dalton Baxley’s pass is intercepted, ending any hope the Bulldogs had of scoring before halftime. To start the third quarter Newton has the ball on the 49-yard line. #2 completes a screen pass to #12 for a 49 yard touchdown. The extra point is good, and Newton extends the lead to 27-8. Newton attempts an onside kick and recovers it, getting the ball on the 47-yard line. The Tigers can’t capitalize on the opportunity though as they fumble the ball a few plays later. Enterprise starts with the ball on the 47-yard line. The Bulldogs drive down the field and score off of a 16 yard Derrick Moore touchdown run. The two-point conversion is no good, and the score is 27-14. The Tigers return the ball to the 38-yard line. After a few plays, #2 launches a 44 yard touchdown pass that puts Newton up 35-14. Enterprise takes the ball on the 46-yard line, and Dalton Baxley airs out a pass to Derrick Moore for a 54 yard touchdown. The two-point conversion is good, and Enterprise trails 35-22. Newton returns the ball to 24-yard line, but fumbles the ball later in the drive. Enterprise takes the ball at the 47-yard line and drives down the field to the 7-yard line where Dalton Baxley scores on a quarterback keeper. The two-point conversion is no good, and Enterprise trails 35-28. Newton recovers the kickoff at the 47-yard line. They work themselves out of a fourth down situation, and #2 throws a 29 yard touchdown pass to extend the lead. The PAT is no good, and the score is 41-28. Enterprise recovers the kickoff on the 49-yard line. Derrick Moore goes 51 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the drive to cut the lead to 41-34. After receiving the kickoff, Newton goes into the fourth quarter with the ball on the 40-yard line. Newton starts the fourth quarter with a 60 yard touchdown pass. The two-point conversion is no good, and the Tigers lead 47-34. The Bulldogs return the following kickoff to the 41-yard line. After making their way down the field, Dalton Baxley connects with Lane Kennedy for a 44 yard touchdown pass. The two-point conversion is no good, and Enterprise trails 47-40. The onside attempt is no good, and Newton takes over at the 49-yard line. Newton answers quickly with a 51 yard touchdown pass from #2. The two-point conversion is no good, and the score is 53-40. Enterprise returns the kickoff to the 38-yard line. The Bulldogs cap off a big drive with a 9 yard touchdown run by Lane Kennedy. The two-point conversion is good and the Bulldogs trail 53-48. Enterprise recovers their onside kick attempt and takes the ball at the 41-yard line. The Bulldogs work their way down the field, and Zack Wilkerson finds the endzone from 22 yards out. The two-point conversion is good, and the Bulldogs lead 56-53. Newton returns the ball to the 33-yard line, and they quickly get the ball to the 43-yard line where #2 completes another touchdown pass. The two-point conversion is good, and Newton leads 61-56. With a little less than three and a half minutes remaining in the fourth, Enterprise gives one last ditch effort to score. They are stopped on a 4th and 4 and that seals the game.
