The Quitman Panthers would not be denied a win in their last regular season district game in Mendenhall Ms. On Friday night. The Panthers are tied for 2nd place in district 5 4A. The Captains for the game are # 4 Saveonne Evans # 16 Brijuan Dace # 54 Chris Cooley the Panthers won the toss and elected to defer to the second half. On the kick # 2 Jaycolby Williams would try an onside kick and the fired up Panthers would recover near midfield. On 1st down # 4 Saveonne Evans would take the handoff from # 11 Jed Lewis and pick up about 3 yards, on 2nd down # 4 Evans would pick up 4 yards on the next attempt # 26 Tydrekius Carpenter would pick up a first down. On 2nd and 4 # 11 Lewis would pick up a 1st down and goal. # 12 Keshan Johnson scores a touchdown and # 16 Brijuan Dace’s PAT is no good, the score is 6 to 0 Quitman. # 2 Willams lines his team up for the 2nd kick of the night when he attempts another onside kick and the Panthers recover the ball again. The Panthers on 3rd down and 2 yards to gain draw the Tigers offside giving them a 1st down. The Tigers defense hold the Panthers to a 3 and out. The Tigers soon find themselves in a 4th and 14 when they try a fake punt and the Panthers hold and take over the football on the 45 yard line.
