BE IT REMEMBERED THAT the Mayor and Board of Aldermen met in a regular meeting on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. in the Enterprise Town Hall located at 500 River Road.
Mayor Chancelor recognized Enterprise School Superintendent Josh Perkins. Mr. Perkins stated that the school would possibly like to partner with the Town of Enterprise to have a School Resource Officer. Legal issues and details are being looked into.
Mayor Chancelor stated (1) that he would be meeting with the MS DWPF about a boat ramp. Mayor Chancelor invited the Board Members to join the meeting. (2) there is not an up-to-date contract with the Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department. Alderman Heath Kasselman voted to approve the contract with the EVFD. Alderman Darrel Phillips seconded the motion and all approved.
Water Superintendent Randy Freeman stated that a variable frequency drive would be beneficial to add to the well to help eliminate hard startups. This will cut down on wear and tear and help lower power costs. Three quotes were received. Alderman Darrel Phillips made a motion to accept the bid from Brister Electric in the amount of $6420.00 (prices have increased since quote received, so this will increase possibly $500.00). WoITell Electrical submitted a quote for $6052.00. WoITell's quote is cheaper but Brister is located in Enterprise and would be more readily available for maintenance and repairs. Alderman Heath Kasselman seconded the motion for Brister Electric and all were in favor.
Upon motion being made by Alderman Talmadge Gray, and seconded by Alderwoman Emily Chancelor, the board voted unanimously to approve the claims.
Upon motion being made by Alderwoman Emily Chancelor, and seconded by Alderman Heath Kasselman, the board voted unanimously to approve the minutes.
