The Town of Shubuta has a new garbage policy effective April 27, 2021.
Garbage will be picked up by Waste Pro every Friday. Starting pickup date will be May 14, 2021.
1. All garbage bags must be designed to hold the amount of garbage placed in them without tearing.
2. All garbage bags that burst due to inadequate quality, overfilling, or animals, will be left for the resident to clean up. WASTE PRO WILL NOT CLEAN UP GARBAGE.
3. If garbage bags are too heavy for workers to pick up, it will be left for the resident to re-bag to make suitable for pickup.
4. All garbage should be at roadside by 7 a.m. on pickup day. If garbage is not at roadside when Waste Pro comes by, they will not come back around to pick up the bags. They will be picked up the next Friday. The town will not pick up the garbage.
5. If any bags are on the side of or at back of property, Waste Pro will not pick up bags.
6. Waste Pro will not pick up any debris.
7. All leaves and grass are to be placed in appropriate trash bags separate from garbage.
8. All limbs are to be cut into 6 feet length or less.
9. Debris will be picked up every 2nd Thursday of the month starting in June.
