The Town of Stonewall met in regular session on Tuesday, March 1.
A motion was made and approved to:
• Have the Mardi Gras parade and party in Stonewall on March 12
• Accept the bid from Harvey Services for $23,431.72 to replace two pumps at the blue hole. This was the lowest bid.
• Accept the lowest bid from Red Oak Construction Company for $49,994 to replace the waterline from Erwin Rd. to the railroad tracks on River Rd. and pay for it using the ARCA money.
• To adopt the resolution designating funds received from the US Dept. of Treasury under the American Rescue Plan Act’s state and local fiscal recovery fund as lost revenue under the standard allowance presumption and related uses
• To opt out of the cultivation, processing, sale and/or distribution of medical cannabis and cannabis products, all as authorized by the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act of 2022, Senate Bill 2095
• To sell surplus water meters to Harmony Water Association for $25.00 each and deposit the money in the water and sewer fund
• To take under advisement the Verizon Connect contract
