Important Deadlines
Now is the time to act! The enrollment deadline for January 2023 coverage is December 15th. From December 16th – January 15th, you can enroll for coverage beginning February 1st. After January 16th, any enrollments or plan changes will require a Special Election Period, so please act quickly!
Brief History of Marketplace and ACA
The Health Insurance Marketplace, also known as the Exchange or Obamacare, started in 2014 as an option for uninsured Americans to have access to affordable health insurance. Now, nearly a decade later, Exchange plans are the chosen healthcare for over 14 million Americans. These Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace policies are made affordable through federal subsidies for both premiums and the cost shares paid to receive health care services. Individuals and families from a wide range of income levels have a variety of plans, premiums, and out-of-pocket healthcare costs to consider when selecting a plan.
New Premium Subsidies Available Due To “Family Glitch” Fix
To make Marketplace plans even more affordable in 2023, CMS changed its policies for family coverage through Healthcare.gov. If your family's access to health insurance has been limited in the past due to your employer's insurance coverage, also known as the “Family Glitch”, your family may now be eligible for premium subsidies due to recent changes from CMS. Call the Marketplace or visit Healthcare.gov to check how much premium assistance your family is eligible for and what plans best fit your family's needs.
