Historic Clarke County needs your help renovating of the McNair-Gavin House to preserve our county's history for future generations. Neglected history is soon forgotten and when people help, change happens.
Here’s the Challenge - If one hundred people will donate as little as $5 each, that will help Historic Clarke County raise $500. That $500 will help the renovation of the McNair-Gavin House. No amount is too small, and every little bit helps and is appreciated.
Take time to donate and then share on your Facebook page to help protect our heritage.
What’s Happening?
Yesterday was a busy day as we tackled cleaning up Miss Fannie’s Store building on the corner of the McNair-Gavin House property, and then mowed Spring’s straggly tall grass around the house.
In the coming months, as you pass by the McNair-Gavin House, you will be seeing a lot more activity, as we begin workdays and hosting events and fundraisers. Stay tuned for we will be sharing these activities with you so you may participate by attending or volunteering.
Also, HCC had received a few vintage items to be displayed once the McNair-Gavin House (Clarke County Museum) is completed. Later this coming week we will make another post announcing the items.
Just a reminder. We are currently looking for carpenters and volunteers for upcoming work at the McNair-Gavin House. Please email us your name, contact information, and trade specialty or if wanting to volunteer to historicclarkecountyms@gmail.com
Check out the Historic Clarke County gofundme to donate your $5 and don’t forget to share on your Facebook page to help protect our heritage. https://bit.ly/3NFjJST
