Years ago when first starting out as basically kids having kids, we tried many options to financially get on our feet.
Having two sons in the first three years, it became obvious that as college students we would not be able to both work and make enough money to afford childcare. So, we decided I would go to work for a daycare that allowed my one- and two-year-old to attend free if I managed the two year old class.

The Mississippi House recently went all-in to legalize online sports betting in the state.
House Bill 4074 passed 101-10, a surprisingly large margin, especially when you recall that the much-hyped school choice legislation got through the House by only two votes before dying in a Senate committee.

Too many young people still leave Mississippi to chase opportunities elsewhere. MCPP is on a mission to help change that - by creating the conditions for real, sustained growth so our children and grandchildren choose to stay, build lives, and thrive right here in our state.
The good news? Mississippi is no longer a laggard, but leading.

Poor Speaker White. His omnibus school choice bill got short shrift in the Senate. His resort now appears to be name calling. “Senate leadership has aligned themselves with the ACLU, Southern Poverty Law Center, the Mississippi Democratic Party, and the status quo,” he whined.

The biggest sports story in our state might have been the visit by ESPN conversational talk host Steven A. Smith to Ole Miss last Thursday night. Smith was called out by Lady Rebel coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin (Coach Yo) about his negative comments about Ole Miss and Oxford while Lane Kiffin was on the way out of town. Smith stated on his show “the brothers ain’t trying to come to Oxford for the most part” as the reason for Kiffin's exodus. Coach Yo then invited Smith to see for himself how the school has changed since the days of segregation.
