John Norman Gallaspy of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Angels hospital on March 21, 2026. John was born on November 8, 1932, to the union of Francis Norman Gallaspy and Hazel Weeks Gallaspy. At the age of three, John's mother died of postoperative complications. His father remarried Mary Leigh Marshall of Stonewall, and this union would give John a wonderful, loving mother and later, two beautiful sisters, Kathleen and Virginia.

Clarence Alton Russell, 73, a resident of the Springhill Community passed away Wednesday morning March 18, 2026 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born near Amite on January 8, 1953 and grew up in the area. Clarence was retired after a long career as a diesel and heavy equipment mechanic for Caterpillar, working out of the Baton Rouge, Reserve and New Orleans offices through the years. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He always enjoyed relaxing around the house drinking coffee and eating his favorite chocolate.

Ellen Marie Ney Campbell, 66, a resident of Mount Hermon passed away early Sunday morning March 1, 2026 at West Jefferson Medical Center after a brief illness.
She graduated from Mt. Hermon High School Class of 1977 and worked as a legal secretary for different attorney offices through the years. Ellen worked for a mortgage lending office for a time and also worked for years at Citizen’s Savings Bank in both Franklinton and Mandeville. She was currently a member of Mt. Hermon Pentecostal Church.

Bobbie Earl Wilkes McElveen Adams, age 91, a resident of the Mt. Hermon community, went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday February 21, 2026. Bobbie was born in Mt. Hermon on January 15, 1935 to Earl and Willie Burch Wilkes. She graduated from Mt. Hermon High School in 1953 and married her high school sweetheart Quinlon S. McElveen. She was a devoted mother and lovingly raised their four children.

June Rose Hoyer Magee Thomas, age 84, went to be with her Savior on February 19, 2026 after a long battle with dementia. June was the oldest child of 7. She was born June 8, 1941 in Sundance, Wyoming. During her childhood her family moved around the mid-west states to find work as sharecroppers. Then, June made her way to Louisiana and ultimately settled in the Lawrence Creek Community of Franklinton, where she has lived for the last 55 years.

Verda Lea Dillon passed away February 19th 2026 in Covington, LA. She was born to Tom and Louise Mizell on September 20, 1951. Verda Lea was one of six children, grew up in Isabel, Louisiana where she raised her children and watched her family grow. Verda Lea was proud of her family, she was especially proud to be called great grand mother. Verda Lea faithfully served her community as a nurse at Highland Park Hospital before devoting herself to caring for her home and family.

Ronald Duncan, 69, a lifelong resident of Mount Hermon passed away Tuesday evening February 17, 2026 at the Sabine Medical Center in Many, Louisiana while visiting at his sister’s home. He was born in Franklinton on February 7, 1957 and graduated from Mount Hermon High School. Ronald was a crew boat captain in the off-shore industry for 25 years before retiring. He then owned and operated his own business, Duncan’s Cleaning and Flooring, working at many homes and businesses in Washington Parish, the Northshore and around south Louisiana.

Dalton Primes of Franklinton passed away Saturday night February 14, 2026, at the age of 91.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was retired after a long career as an electrician with Kaiser Aluminum. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton. Dalton was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His kindness and generosity will always be remembered and he will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Audrey Delories Williams McNeese, 83, a resident of Pine passed away Wednesday morning February 11, 2026 at her son’s home, after a lengthy illness. She was born on May 18, 1942 to the late Otha Williams and Audrey Tynes Williams. She was married to the late Elmo McNeese for 53 years and together they had two sons. Delories was a lifetime member of Pine Missionary Baptist Church. She was retired after a career as a seamstress at Rutter Rex. She loved tending to her beautiful flower beds and sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds that visited her property each day.

She was born on January 8, 1961 to Marion Ray Bankston and Patsy (Pat) Alford of Mt Hermon, La, She spent most of her career as an independent truck driver until retiring in Magnolia, MS to be near her family.

Elaine Singley Seal, 87, a resident of Angie passed away early Sunday morning, February 15, 2026 at Fair City Rehab in Franklinton. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending the flowers. She loved talking about her great grandson Jax and loved him dearly.
