John Norman Gallaspy of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Angels hospital on March 21, 2026. John was born on November 8, 1932, to the union of Francis Norman Gallaspy and Hazel Weeks Gallaspy. At the age of three, John's mother died of postoperative complications. His father remarried Mary Leigh Marshall of Stonewall, and this union would give John a wonderful, loving mother and later, two beautiful sisters, Kathleen and Virginia.

Clarence Alton Russell, 73, a resident of the Springhill Community passed away Wednesday morning March 18, 2026 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born near Amite on January 8, 1953 and grew up in the area. Clarence was retired after a long career as a diesel and heavy equipment mechanic for Caterpillar, working out of the Baton Rouge, Reserve and New Orleans offices through the years. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He always enjoyed relaxing around the house drinking coffee and eating his favorite chocolate.

Greetings once again! It's always great visiting with you. We thought springtime was here, then all of a sudden here comes the cold again. Remember this is Louisiana, I guess you could say it was an early Easter snap.
There was lots of damage in our area caused by the recent tornado on Wednesday night. My granddaughter Breanna lives in Jayees, Mississippi and the weather was really bad there.

The Magnolia Belles met for their March meeting at the home of Tra Ladner. Hostesses were Jana Stafford, Tra Ladner, Patty Alford, and Anne Millette (Picture above).
The Ladner home was beautifully decorated with an Easter theme. Members were served a Caesar salad, chicken pot pie casserole, deviled eggs, and meringue desserts.
After the business meeting members enjoyed a game of Left/Right as they listened to the Easter story.
